Kid-Friendly Recipe Roundup, Vegan + Gluten & Soy Free Options

One of my absolute favorite things is when I hear that a recipe from my blog or cookbook was a hit with your kids!

As the mama of an 18-month-old, I’ve learned that cooking for kids is seriously no easy task. The dish that my daughter devours for lunch today will probably get thrown on the floor tomorrow- her tastes are always changing!

A couple of months ago, I rounded up all of Baby V’s favorite foods of the moment, how we started her on solid food, and I tackled the question I receive most frequently, “is Baby V vegan?”

Since I wrote that post, I’ve received tons of feedback from this community about which recipes YOUR toddlers, babies and kiddos love (which I love, love, LOVE to hear!). Today’s post is a roundup of recipes that have been hits in my household, as well as some of yours!

Lunch & Dinner

At 18 months, Baby V’s lunch is usually either leftovers from last night’s dinner or a sandwich of some sort and fruit. She’s with her nanny during lunchtime three days a week, and sandwiches are super easy for me to make ahead of time for her on those dats. We usually use this spelt bread, or I’ll get a fresh loaf of sourdough from a local bakery, and sometimes we use switch things up and make wraps (she loves these almond flour wraps).

Here are some of her favorite sandwiches:

  • Peanut Butter and Jelly- of course! We use peanut or almond butter and different flavors of 100% fruit spread.
  • Hummus and Avocado
  • Mashed black beans, sweet potato and tahini
  • Vegan nut cheese (homemade or she loves all varieties of Miyoko’s and Kite Hill) and avocado

When we’re not eating sandwiches, these are a few of our favorite lunch and dinner recipes…

Dessert

Baby V still goes gaga over blueberries, so we haven’t really ventured into the world of real desserts yet. For her first birthday, I made the No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake (from my cookbook) for her, and she absolutely loved it!

A bunch of you have reported back on the desserts that your older kids love…
