How I Started This Blog

When I started The Colorful Kitchen in June of 2013 I had absolutely no clue how to build a website. Thanks so the magic of the internet (and a little trial and error) I’ve successfully googled my way to feeling confident behind the keyboard. Below are the most valuable resources I’ve discovered along the way.

Bluehost– The absolute easiest way to get your WordPress site up and running! AND they get an A+ for customer service. When I started using Bluehost I had a couple million questions and I called their helpline…and someone answered immediately! They even stayed on the line with me until all my questions were answered- so nice!

Blogger University– An amazing resource that teaches you everything you need to know to get your blog up and running.

Food Photography E-Course– Brought to you from the duo behind Minimalist Baker, this course is the perfect place to start if you’re completely new to photography or if you have a little photo experience but want to improve your food photographing skills. Super easy to follow!

How to Monetize Your Food Blog– I can’t say enough good things about this guide. It’s so simple to follow and breaks down big topics (getting advertising, negotiating, etc.) and focuses on how you can maintain the integrity of your blog while making money from it.
