Vegan Shop-Up Roundup
Recently I talked about one of my favorite things about being vegan- the community! Here in Brooklyn we have an event called Vegan Shop-Up, a monthly pop-up market featuring vegan food, clothing and cosmetic vendors. It’s held at The Pine Box, a bar famous for serving all vegan food and drinks (including vegan white russians and empanadas!) and every month it’s a great opportunity to taste a ton of awesome food and learn about new companies. If you live anywhere near the NYC area it’s definitely worth a trip and if you don’t live nearby you are still in luck as most of the companies sell their goods online!
Every month the list of vendors varies but here are a few highlights from this past weekend’s shop-up…
The Cinnamon Snail (aka the best vegan food truck ever) was parked out front. The line was a little long by the time I got there so I didn’t get anything, but next time I’m camping out! I’m holding the brownie I got from Little Choc (see below).
Little Choc Apothecary was a totally new vendor for me. They had a couple of gluten-free goodies, including a walnut orange cookie, so it was a tough decision but I ended up trying their raw brownie…and it did not disappoint!
Brooklyn Delhi showed up with the cutest little jar of Rhubarb Garlic Achaar I’ve ever seen. I’ve been a fan of their Roasted Garlic Achaar for a while (remember this scramble?) so I was super excited to finally try their other flavors. SO GOOD!
This time of the year I’m always on the lookout for vegan ice cream so I was excited to sample flavors from Three Little Birds. Their peanut butter cup ice cream was seriously amazing. I cannot wait to look for their pints in stores.
Gone Pie is a Shop-Up regular and one of my personal favorites because all of their vegan goodies are also gluten-free. Below is their pecan pie and they also carry a ton of chocolate goodies like brownies, peanut butter cups and rice krispy snacks.
Mombucha was sampling their super tasty kombucha over shaved ice…so refreshing! They brew in Brooklyn but they ship anywhere. Freshly delivered kombucha anyone?
Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue was selling these dog portraits. They are an awesome non-profit animal adoption center so check them out!
This is just the tip of the iceberg! There were so many awesome vendors and I’m looking forward to sharing more with you next month. I’ll leave you with this photo of these decadent donuts. I took so many photos that I embarrassingly lost the vendor name for these guys. Does anyone know who made these beauties?? UPDATE! The donuts are from Cake Thieves!!
Thanks for the great round up. Those amazing donuts were made by Cake Thieves! Look forward to seeing you next month!
Ah yes, Cake Thieves! Thank you!! 🙂
