Making Time for Breakfast+ Green Smoothie Bowl Gallery
I’ve made green smoothies for breakfast almost every day for the past five years. Every once in a while I’ll switch it up with oatmeal or a tofu scramble, but I really love how energized I feel after drinking my greens (plus the prep and clean up time is super speedy). Until a few months ago, I would drink my smoothie while I rushed around getting ready for the day, but lately I’ve been trying to give myself a little more time to sit down and eat breakfast in the morning.
Making my smoothies into green smoothie bowls has really helped me to slow down and enjoy my mornings. Taking the time to get creative with toppings and sitting down to eat breakfast with a spoon have become rituals that help set my day off to a more calm and collected start. Once a week, try waking up ten minutes earlier to give yourself a little extra time to sit down and enjoy breakfast and see how you feel!
I first mentioned green smoothie bowls in my recipe for Ilene’s Basic Green Smoothie Bowl and today I would like to talk a little about getting creative with toppings.
I’ve included a gallery of photographs of some of my breakfasts from the past two months for a little inspiration. What are your favorite things to put on/in your green smoothies?
