Soul Camp…The Food!
Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when I made healthy chipwiches and reminisced about my childhood summer camp? Well, about a week after that post went up I actually got the opportunity to go to summer camp Soul Camp!
Soul Camp is part summer camp, part yoga retreat, part kick-your-butt fitness class and pretty much the most magical time ever. Daytime activities ranged from dance class to dreamcatcher-making to numerology readings to standup paddle board yoga. Each night was something different- we had a bonfire (with vegan s’mores!), a talent show, dance parties and an MC Yogi concert!
Just like my childhood summer camp experience, the absolute best part was the Soul Camp community and all of my amazing new friends. My girl Talia was our bunk’s counselor, so of course we stayed up late into the night giggling, swapping stories and eating snacks (OMG the snacks!).
On top of all the super fun activities, the food was also top notch! The canteen was stocked with tons of vegan and gluten-free snack bars, cookies, coconut water, (my personal favorite) kale chips and more.
The non-snack food was hearty (in that great camp way) and delicious with vegan and non-vegan options at each meal. The menu was designed by the ladies of Healthy Cooking Camp and it was an absolute highlight of Soul Camp. Below are some of the camptastic meals!
P.S.- Soul Camp West is happening in October and there’s still time to sign up!
This photo cracks me up! There was super low lighting inside the mess hall so here’s how I snapped these photos…
