Makeover!+ Updates! + Cookbook Giveaway!

Hi friends! It’s been a little while since I checked in on the blog, and oh my goodness- SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED! I’ve got a bunch of new fall recipes lined up that will be coming to the blog soon, but before we say goodbye to summer, here’s a quick update on everything that’s happened since my last update.

MAKEOVER!

First of all, The Colorful Kitchen just underwent a major makeover! Between so many other things this summer, I’ve been working with my insanely talented web designer Ansley Fones to create the sparkly new website you see today! I love how clean the design is, and I think it’s much easier to navigate then my previous website. I’d love to hear what you think in the comments!

COOKBOOK #2

I’m knee deep in recipe testing for my second cookbook, The Colorful Kitchen’s Family Table, which will hit bookstores in Fall 2019. I am just so excited for you guys to try all of these recipes! For a sneak peek, check out my recipe testing team’s photos and scroll down for a few recipes I’ve shared on Instagram…

THE HOUSE

The house is FINALLY coming together! We moved in June, then immediately set off for a 10 day trip to Seattle, followed by 10 days in upstate New York, then a week in Florida. Needless to say, the house was a total furniture-less mess, but things are finally starting to come together. I’m so in love with my kitchen though! I’m still putting the final touches on it, but once it’s truly my dream set-up, I’ll do a full reveal.

THE SECOND TRIMESTER

I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant, and OH MAN- why didn’t anyone tell me it was going to be so much more challenging with a toddler in the house? Ok, I’m sort of kidding because many, many people did tell me that…but I’m still shocked at how low my energy is these days.

When I was pregnant with Baby V, I had mountains of energy during the second trimester, but this time around I’m just so darn tired all the time. I try to get as much sleep as I can, and have been going to sleep by 9pm every night (Baby V wakes up by 6am), but its a far stretch from the 10+ hours (plus a daily nap) that I was able to get in when I was pregnant with Baby V.

The good news is that my morning sickness symptoms are completely gone! The baby is growing, growing, growing and at our last sonogram we were told the size is tracking 2 weeks ahead of our due date. I’m already starting to get to the point where I feel full after I’ve only eaten a little bit because there’s just no room in there! Because of this, and Baby V’s schedule, I’m eating 5-6 smaller meals a day. I’m craving everything salty, like dill pickle potato chips, olives, hummus, all the #vegan cheeses at Whole Foods.

*THE GIVEAWAY!*

In honor of The Colorful Kitchen’s brand new website, I’m giving away a signed copy of my first cookbook, personalized for you or a friend. Head to Instagram to enter before 8/29/18.
